I grew up on my grandparents' diary farm. After graduation, I joined the Army as a veterinary technician. After retiring, I got a job with the USDA and am once again retiring and want to keep busy with something I enjoy, critters. Dogs and cats are the best, but if you have other types of pets, we can talk. We have always rescued those animals that were special needs or ended up with chronic illnesses, so medicating and monitoring behaviors for health changes is not an issue. My last dog was a Bernedoodle named Duke, who was my hiking buddy. He was diagnosed with Atypical Addison's and unfortunately passed on New Years Day. I am heartbroken. In addition to Duke, I have two cats Luna and Max and my son's mini Aussi Leo.
