Hello! This last year or so I have worked officially with 2 wonderful special needs boys-6-9yo! Unofficially, I watched my neighbors kids a lot as a teenager-5 kids for about 5 years. I have ADHD myself, and find that working with more children at once, or those who perhaps need extra attention, keeps me stimulated and challenged in a way I find fulfilling. I usually become friends with those I watch. It builds trust and respect. But I also have firm boundaries that I can be rather patient with in helping the children learn what is acceptable behavior for most people. I am good with cooking, household chores, pets, transportation -I have a minivan but no carseats for kids, CPR certification, and I don't smoke.
