I am a therapist and educator with a background in special education and a real passion for teaching and working with kids. I have been involved in education, and childcare more recently, for over 15 years. During the day I focus on working with toddlers and preschoolers on early language milestones but for the last 8 years I've worked with the same family after school which has been incredibly rewarding. I particularly enjoy being outside and active, but also fostering natural curiosity and critical thinking. I am currently looking for a family to work with after school for the 2023 school year and beyond. We hired Christopher to watch our 3-year old son this summer and he has exceeded all of our expectations! Our little guy has special needs with emerging language skills so we were looking for a caregiver that has the patience to really get to know our son, his interests and help inspire his verbal communication. Christopher has done all of these things and more! He prioritizes being outdoors and planning fun adventures and new experiences which has been wonderful for my son on so many different levels. He's even been helping get him more comfortable in the water. Our little guy waits excitedly for Christopher to arrive each day and has been having a blast exploring playgrounds, splash pads, farms and more. As a special needs parent it's given us such peace of mind to know our son is in the care of someone who not only understands him, but wants to help him learn and grow. Christopher has been wonderful to work with - he's reliable, responsive, trustworthy and easy-going. It's obvious he has a passion for kids, we truly can't recommend him enough.
