Hello. I've been doing in-home care professionally for over 10 years now. 2 of my clients were long term (6 1/7 & 7+ years). I am proficient in ambulatory and non-ambulatory care, dementia care, I'm an excellent cook and very familiar with accommodating dietary restrictions. I am very good with dementia clients. I'm blessed with a naturally sunny disposition and enjoy the work I do. My background in medical is extensive and diverse. I was a med tech in the Air Force rotating to all areas of the hospital and clinics, a former EMT and firefighter, Paramedic crew chief. Also 5 years as a cardiac monitor tech in intensive care. I have an Associate Degree in medical assisting and a current Professional Rescuer Level CPR. I understand that trusting a loved one to someone else's care is difficult. I cared for my mother for several years before she passed so I've been on both sides of the caregiver situation.

Christine seems like she would be an excellent choice for providing in home care to an elderly person living alone. However, as a respite provider she wasn't ideal because she: a) did things her own way even though she was specifically instructed to the contrary b) overwhelmed my husband and me with her suggestions for changes that she believed we should make in our home and c) wasn't sensitive to the fact that as my mother's full time caregivers, we did not want to be peppered with questions, ideas, and social interaction when it was our "respite" time. These things may not be an issue for someone who is looking for help with a parent who does not live with them and her references were excellent.
