Hello! I am certified in elementary education and I hold an M. Ed in Curriculum & Instruction. I began teaching in 2011. My classroom experience ranges from 2nd-8th grade, and I have 7 years as an elementary reading specialist with KCPS. I've completed an IDA certified instructional course on multi-sensory reading instruction for students with Dyslexia, as well as LETRS- an instructional methods course based on the science of reading. In addition to my work with young learners, I've taught reading methods and remediation/assessment courses at the university level as an adjunct instructor. My instructional philosophy is to teach foundational skills embedded in a knowledge building curriculum.
