About Christina

Hello! I'm a certified teacher in both early childhood education and elementary education. My specialty is working with kids ages 3-7 in math and reading. I have a BS in early childhood education from Concordia university in Chicago and a MA in elementary mathematics education from WGU. I have 4 years experience teaching kindergarten. My approach to teaching and tutoring for reading is a science based approach. I am familiar and experienced with the Science of Reading and look to teach reading as phonics based mostly following evidence based curriculums. For math I will create my own lessons based on your child's needs that align to what they are learning in school and Missouri learning standards. In all areas, lessons will be partially direct instruction where content is taught, practice, and review of previous skills with games. I also would love to connect with your child's teacher for more information on what they need academically.
