Hi there! I moved to Pittsburgh in Sep. to enroll in a Doctor of Occupational Therapy program at Chatham U. Unfortunately, I had to take a leave of absence from the program in Feb. due to the death of my mother and the need for me to get her estate in proper order. I just got back to PGH on 2/29 and am now looking for work for the remainder of the year since I can't re-enroll in classes until next January. Although I've never officially worked for pay with adults with learning disabilities, I have volunteered extensively as well as shadowed OT's in their work with disabled adults for many hours. My mother actually taught children with autism in MA for over 20 years, so I have a good amount of volunteer experience with children with learning disabilities as well. I know its rare to see a guy on here, but I'm great with kids, responsible, and fun. I have recently passed FBI (fingerprint) and PA background checks (as well as health tests) so that I could work pediatrics at Chatham.
