About Chey

I like tutoring because I get the chance to help students where they struggle the most. working one-on-one makes this much easier on everyone! I'm looking for a job that is flexible and fulfilling. I'd love part-time hours. I started tutoring when I was an undergraduate in college (2004). I tutored one-on-one and in small groups. I've also trained others in tutoring. Since then, I've worked as a teacher/tutor and with Washington Reading Corps. In my spare time, I like to garden, craft, read, and have adventures/travel. One thing you should know about me is I'm very empathetic, so I can quickly relate to students so I can help them efficiently/appropriately. My skills include working with students to determine their needs, teaching concepts in several ways to assure understanding, and promoting critical thinking to increase retention.
