Having worked in Early Childhood Education since the early 1990's at College of the Canyons, I left to raise my own family and homeschool them, after achieving 3 years as a California Mentor Teacher while a full time Adjunct Faculty. I returned back to part-time work at the college as an Assistant Teacher in the 2019/20 school year. Now that my youngest has entered High School I am ready for full time work. I have also been a weekend personal assistant to two elderly women in a home for the last 5 years. Supporting and attending to the physical, emotional, planning and stimulus needs of the clients and their family before the quarantine. Beyond the regular certifications in ECE, I was personally trained by Magda Gerber at the Resources for Infant Educarers (R. I. E.), facilities in Los Feliz, CA. I was a personal assistant to Magda in trainings on Whidbey Island, in WA each summer for 4 years before having my own family. I look forward to meeting your family soon.

Cheryl has been helping us for about a month to take care of our five month old baby. She is very sweet to the baby, reliable and easy to communicate. We really like her calm demeanor too. We are trying to incorporate RIE approach to raise the baby, and we are so lucky to have her as a guide/coach as well. It gives me a peace of mind to know my baby is respected and encouraged to focus on self-directed play while I'm out. We tried several nannies to find someone who we can grow with and who can help the baby to thrive. Finally we found her and hope to continue building a great relationship. We definitely recommend her.
