For nearly three years, we were incredibly fortunate to have Cherrie caring for our first one and then two young kids. When I was initially interviewing people, I thought I had several good candidates, but then she came in, and we realized immediately that she was the one. She's kind, considerate, really loves the kids, and is just a good human being, someone who my wife and I both trust implicitly, and who sets as good an example for the kids as we could hope to do ourselves. She is punctual, friendly, and honest to a fault. The kids both think she's great, and enjoy their time reading, singing, playing games, walking around the park, going to the playground, children's museum, doing arts and crafts, etc. She's better than we are at getting them to nap, and always lets us know if anything out-of-the-ordinary is going on, from heading off diaper rash to catching on video our daughter's decision that perhaps she would try walking after all. She's very neat (we are not terribly) and the apartment always seems much more orderly on the days she works. We use cloth diapers, which she is great with, and live on the top of a 4th floor walk up, which she gets herself and the kids up and down with aplomb. As a curmudgeon myself, she's also the reason our son has friends at the local playground, where she has made friends with nannies who have kids of similar ages. Any family would be lucky to have her - we certainly were.
