For almost 2 years, I worked as a Dorm Coordinator at a boarding school/day school for children and young adults with Autism, complex learning disabilities and special educational needs. My overall responsibility was to provide direct and ongoing supervision and support to all students as well as foster independent living skills. It was the most demanding, rewarding, and fun job I ever had and I absolutely loved working with those kids! More recently, I worked as a PASS worker for a little over a year for 2 separate families. Going into someone Else's home and providing those same services that I did for the children at the school was such a completely different experience that I enjoyed as well. I got to work with the family as a unit as opposed to just the student at school which was challenging but also rewarding.
