I like working with kids because they remind you to enjoy life and to have fun! As adults we are called to take a lot of things very seriously and (hopefully) can appropriately manage our emotions. For children the most devastating thing to happen in a day may be that they did not get 2 cookies instead of 1. You're called to slow down and take their feelings seriously because the small upsets prepare you for adolescence and adulthood. Showing up for them in what seem like small moments makes all the difference. I'm looking for a job that gives me some flexibility. I worked at a learning center managing up to 20 kids at a time from ages 5-11, so I can handle a lively bunch. I started working with kids when I was in college. I nannied two girls for three summers then started working at a learning center post-grad. In my spare time, I like to work out, play soccer, and write music!
