While Chantel was great with my 1.5 year old, very caring and supportive, she was not very dependable for us. We had hired her for full time hours. 4 days a week. The hours were early but 4 out of the 10 hours she was with our son, he was asleep. In the 12 week she worked for us she called in sick 6 times. Also asked for multiple days off or early outs. She has called out the entire last week she was supposed to be working for us. We confirmed that she would be back to work the next week but ended up letting us know that she could would no longer be able to work for us. No two week notice and also texted us at almost 1am this information the day she was supposed to come back to work. While we know things happen that are out of out anyone's control she consistently called in sick on what was our Mondays and almost always so early in the mornings that we had no chance to see if we could get someone else to watch our child. We work early hours and we know that isn't easy for everyone but these hours were established before starting with us that she was okay to work them. I don't want to diminish how well she did take care of our son when she actually showed up to work. But it became more than frustrating always expecting her to call out on us, and not all them were exactly because she was sick. As both working parents that depend on someone else to watch our child and not having the option for a daycare situation, I just want to forewarn anyone hiring Chantel for a full time/long term situation.
