Hi, my name is Chantal, and I am 1 of 8 children in my family, 5 of them being adopted with special needs. My little sister has been the joy of my heart. She was spared from abortion and brought into our home at 3 days old. She has Down syndrome. My other siblings include the challenges of bipolar, autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, and ADD. Growing up in this kind of household has given me a heart for those with any challenges greater than my own. My family was also involved with an organization in Fresno, CA, started by a woman with a disabled sister. They focus on training anyone, regardless of their disabilities, in everything from basketball to ballet, gymnastics, karate, etc. Spending time there was a great opportunity to see and spend time. I have been made very familiar and comfortable being around medication or establishing habits of exersize or care with anyone who isn't capable themselves. I love to spend time with people who I can help and can help show me what life is really about. I'm willing to do anything from giving medication to going out for walks or helping with homework. I would love the opportunity to spend time with your loved one.
