About Catherine

I have had many years of caring for children of all ages and ability levels. During middle school and high school, I babysat and nannied for 3 families, with children aged 3-10. During high school, I volunteered with a school for children with mentally and physically disabled students of Chautauqua Learn and Serve school, a school for children with special needs in my community. I continued during my 4 years in college, where I worked as an Assistant Coach for Balance180. Balance180 is an innovative sports program for children with intellectual disabilities and their peers between the ages of 2 and 7. As an Assistant Coach, we worked with children one-to-one to improve their physical abilities and help them through stations and games. We work to improve their self esteem, positive identity, communication and listening skills, and decision making through leadership, coaching, and encouragement!
