In my youth, I cared for hundreds of children and even was a nanny for a family of eight, yes eight girls one summer when their parents were in Europe. I have since cared for the children of my friends and relatives- from diapers to degrees. As a children' s book author, I have entertained and taught thousands of kids, grades Pre-K through 8. In addition to my work in schools, I have tutored at-risk children for the past 15 years. I thoroughly enjoy children and find their spontaneity refreshing. You will find me to be a kind, energetic, patient and creative person with a great sense of humor and capacity for whimsy and fun! I sing, play the piano and I do a great Donald Duck impression. I'm a physically fit, non-drinker, non-smoker and love the outdoors. I have a green thumb and I'm a very good cook. I'm an animal lover and would be happy to care for the furry members of your family, as well as the two-legged ones.

We hired Catherine (also goes by Elaine) for the summer to spend time with our 7 yo and 4 yo kids. Over a very short period of time, Elaine familiarized herself with our home and our kids' routines. She was intuitive to our needs and went above and beyond what we required of her to keep us afloat during a busy summer month. I was amazed at how energetic she was throughout the day. In one day, our kids would have been to the Botanical Gardens, groceries were done and we would come home to a home cooked meal. The kids' loved spending time with Elaine and were very comfortable with her. Elaine was very respectful of our family routines. We were lucky to have found her and couldn't recommend her enough.
