About Cassandra

When I was 17 I attended a 4 week Counselor-In-Training camp at the YMCA camp I had attended for several years. The next summer I returned as a staff member to work as an overnight camp counselor for 9 weeks. I was responsible for the safety and care of a cabin of at least 8 children, ages ranging from 5 years old to 16. I returned to work the next two summers and also continue to work for several seasonal events throughout the year. Last summer I worked as a summer daytime nanny for a 1-year-old girl. I would go to her house at 8 a.m. and her parents would return at 5 p.m. I was responsible for 2 meals, her nap, and for planning our daily activities and field trips. We would often go to the park and zoo and occasionally we took special trips such as a day at the state fair. I planned a daily cooking project or craft and purchased the supplies with out weekly allowance. I was also responsible for budgeting our allowance for activities and eating out.
