I have always had a passion for helping and working with children who have special needs. When I look back on my teenage years, some of my fondest memories are dancing and singing with my mom's students. Both of my parents are special needs teachers and whenever I had any time off, I would go and volunteer in their classrooms. Volunteering all of these years has provided me with the opportunity to work with children with varying needs, some who are ambulatory and verbal and some who are non-verbal and are not ambulatory. In my college years I was a nanny for a family who had a child with special needs, and I also worked as a teacher assistant for Forsyth's county extended school year program in the summer. Regarding my undergraduate degree, I currently a have B. S. in Communications Sciences and Disorders and am planning to go to grad school to become a Speech Therapist.
