I cared for a boy, for two years during the period he was 8 to 10 years old along with his two younger brothers. I learned to deal with his sensory issues as well as helping him cope with changes in his routine when they occurred. I helped him get dressed and ready for school in the morning and prepared breakfast and saw him out to his bus. I then met him at the bus, prepared a snack and cared for him until his parents returned home. He had been diagnosed with moderate to severe autism. I have also worked with two boys ages, 4 and 2 at the time, the oldest of which had a spectrum disorder and sensory issues. I also assisted his parents in dealing with the sensitivities related to his disorder.
