I was a licensed EMT on ourambulance for 8 years and also a licensed Foster parent for 8 years, both in Illinois before I moved here 10 years ago. In that time I had 11 children through my home. All with different issues. I adopted 2 boys. Later they were both diagnosed with disablities. Autism, adhd, odd, RAD, bi-polar/ cluster B. They are now 21 & 23 and living in an apt. 5 miles away. I still care for the aspects of their life that they cannot manage such as bills and budgeting.
