Carla is a wonderful caregiver and so much more. She began caring for my then-92 y.o. mother almost five years ago, following a broken hip and a big abdominal surgery. She rapidly became indispensible for Mom - helping her with personal care, styling her hair, helping her organize her files and use her computer, helping her with gardening, taking her plant shopping. And on and on. Over time, she began caring for my father, too. Like many older men, he could be gruff and grumpy. Carla had endless patience and endeared herself to him by anticipating his needs and cooking his favorite dishes just as he liked. Also a wry sense of humor, which came in handy quite often. She is a whiz at home level technology (cable, wifi, phones etc) and will easily take charge of the entire household if asked to do so. Also basic home repairs - unfreezing the ice maker, troubleshooting all manner of mechanical devices, even the occasional painting and plumbing task. She shepherded my parents through a move to a different house, hired the movers, oversaw the packing, kept Mom calm thoroughout. She was at their bedsides through their final illnesses and hospice care and was fully capable of medication management in all circumstances. I trust and value her like a sister. She cried beside us when they died. Hire Carla if you need someone with great capacity for thinking, managing, caring and making life really great for your family member! She is worth what ever she asks for!!
