Hello! I have 7 years paid experience caring for seniors, including the original franchise of First light Home Care of Charlottesville in 2014. I then made a temporary move to Florida when our family's rental property in Ft Lauderdale required hands-on management, before returning home, here in Virginia. While in Florida, I was privately employed to cared for her until her death in 2019 at age 94. My personal unpaid care is more extensive. I made sure my own mother was comfortable and cared for through years of cancer care; watching her diet and preparing meals, loving company, taking daily walks with her, keeping her on her medications and hydrated, taking her to doctors visits. I'm well suited for senior care, and I do love to provide the comfort to adult children of knowing their aging parent is safe and in good hands.

Carisa was the first person I contacted through care.com. Her knowledge and understanding of home care is extensive, and she was actually very helpful to me when setting up Mom's care team. She has developed an incredible relationship with my mother. She has encouraged her to get out of her house and do things that she has been refusing to do for years. She'll just say, put on your shoes, we're going! She believes in gentle nurturing during this transitional phase of life, maximizing the positive experiences and minimizing the negative where possible. she goes the extra mile, rubbing mom's feet, doing her nails, finding the coziest nightie for her to wear, or the most beautiful coat. She makes my mom feel beautiful and special, and in the process, stimulates her mentally and physically, improving her strength and mental acuity. She has been a true blessing.
