About Cara

Experience: 10 yrs

COVID-19 vaccinated

I have two school-age children and have found nannying to be an excellent fit for my skill set, my schedule, and my passions. I've been mostly full-time nannying since 2020, with several more years of experience working with kids before that (tutoring, babysitting, professional childcare/preschool settings). I love reading books with kids, going for walks, playing at the park, encouraging creativity, and helping them develop into the little people that they are! I have experience in coordinating a nanny and working with children from multiple families. Right now I am specifically looking for the right family to add to a nanny starting in November or December, or something else starting in March 2025. Feel free to reach out if you think I would be a good fit for your family or if you would like to learn more!

Cara is at the top of my gratitude list every day. She is reliable, trustworthy, and kind. And above all, it is clear that she loves what she does, and the children in her care grow and thrive with the environment she creates. Cara and I met through care.com. My family wasn’t expecting to work with a nanny, so I was learning as I interviewed folks about what I needed. I was immediately smitten with Cara - she was a clear communicator while also being easy to talk to, had a lot of experience, and most importantly, her passion for working with babies and toddlers was one I could relate to - she loved seeing them grow and develop into their own little selves. At the time, Cara had been working with an 18-month old, and our 4-month old son joined their crew for a nanny share in our home. What a joyful crew it’s been! My initial sense about Cara was not wrong. She has been everything we could ever need or want, a true team member, and someone I look forward to seeing every day. Some of my favorite things about Cara are: (1) She is reliable - Cara is always prompt, despite having an 18-month in tow 😊, and communicated early and often about days she needed off so that I could plan my schedule. Cara also just makes good decisions about what my son needs in any given moment. She takes the time to get to know the humans in her care so that when something is off, she knows and can respond. (2) She is creative and flexible - as any parent knows, your baby changes a lot, and sometimes they throw you a curve ball, or two. Our baby refused bottles and very often struggled with an afternoon nap. Cara’s deep knowledge and experience with babies at every age allowed her to to tackle all of this and more, and she was a kind partner in the journey, always rolling with what was new or needed adjusting. She was also very adept at balancing the needs of the two boys, who throughout their time together saw several nap adjustments and developmental changes. She took everything in stride and with a smile and sense of humor. (3) She has a gentle spirit - with the babies, Cara has a special way of bringing out their most joyful, inquisitive self. She is encouraging and playful and always looking for new ways that they can learn and explore. My son absolutely lights up when she walks into our home each morning. Beyond the babies, Cara has been gentle and kind and giving to me. I work from home, and it has just been the most lovely experience getting to know Cara and spending my days with her. I consider her a dear friend, and am beyond grateful that my family found her. The last 9 months have been the most sweet season of life, and I can’t recommend Cara highly enough to the next family. You will not only have the great joy of seeing your child thrive, but you’ll also get the chance to know and work with a truly lovely human being.
