I have already raised my two boys in the Bay Area and have cared for children for over 25 years. I was known as the "neighborhood mom" in my town in the East Bay. My door was always open and my house was the afternoon and Friday night gathering place for neighborhood kids to eat snacks, hang out, swim, play games. I have a very welcoming personality. I love kids, I am active, and I love to be outdoors moving around and busy. I know how to be fun-loving, energetic, and totally entertain them. I will ride bikes, go to the park, go on long walks, play games. We will all have fun! I love the sand and beach, and, if we have the opportunity, we will build sand castles, dance in the waves, visit the sea lions. everything kids love to do, while they are learning and exploring! I am a gourmet cook and can cater to allergy and diet needs. Most recently I was hired to care for three children, ages 4, 2, and newborn in the days and weeks after their mother recovered from her third c-section. I also care for children while their parents travel for business and couple's vacations. I am available to travel with families, as well. I have a knowledge of different parenting styles like "Love and Logic," Ferber Method, Attachment Parenting, and others. So, I can honor and respect the way you want your children to be raised and parented. Most importantly, I can make the transition from parent to care-giver calm and comfortable. Previously, I spent 1.5 years doing in-home care for a physician while he passed away from early onset Alzheimer's disease. I assisted with daily activities like bathing, changing, grooming, food prep and feeding, as well as bringing him on daily excursions to the park, walks, visits with family, community center visits. I even served as his traveling companion to fly to see his children. I love pets! I have a cat. I've raised dogs and also rode horses for many years. I am available to care for pets, too! I have a new, reliable car with auto insurance. I am a U. S. citizen. I am an honest, down-to-earth, no drama, kind person with excellent references.
