About Callie

I started babysitting for families around my home town at the young age of 14. I guess you could say I have always been the mature, responsible type. I knew from an early age that I wanted to work with kids and I went to college for elementary education at UMaine and received my bachelors there. I am now a certified teacher. Throughout the years I have babysat for family friends and co-workers children, but I have never had a consistent nannying or babysitting job. I love working with kids and for the last 3 years have been working in schools in a special education setting working with kids with special needs. I've worked with kids on the autism spectrum, with down syndrome, and behavioral disorders such as oppositional defiant and attachment disorders. It has been a very rewarding experience for me and I have learned a lot about myself doing this, and it has taught me a lot about children in general!
