After my grandfather passed away, there was a time that my grandmother needed help because she was suffering from dementia. She was home alone and needed someone to be with her around the clock. While my family worked on finding a suitable home for her, I was privileged to stay with her for a few weeks. I would sit with her and talk about whatever just to make sure she kept a smile on her face. Sometimes we would go for walks or even watch the Golden Girls. I would also prepare meals and give her meds as needed.
