I gained so much useful experience when I was a nanny for two and a half summers for two boys ages 2 and 4 when I started. Watching the boys involved regularly driving them in the family minivan to various activities such as swim lessons or team practice. While this job gave me great experience in full day child care (and fun), it was not the first or only babysitting job I have had. I have been babysitting regularly for children ages 6 months to 12 years old, after completing the Red Cross Babysitting course at age 14. I simply adore kids and have two amazing nephews, 2 and 5 and who I also babysit and generally just love to spend as much time with as I can (they are the little munchkins in my photos). Unfortunately, my older nephew has a peanut allergy so I am also all too familiar with the signs of a serious allergic reaction and how to administer an Epi-Pen. I do my very best to keep the kids in line by parent standards, whether it means clearing their dinner plate or going to bed on time, and love to do creative musical and crafty things, play outdoors and just have fun with the kids for the most part. Safety is a major priority to me as well, and while I know kids will naturally bump and bruise and get boo-boos, I do my very best to ensure that the kids are being safe before anything else.
