I have cared for pets most of my life. My stepmother was a veterinarian and would often bring home different kinds of abandoned pets. I love cats and dogs the same. I don't discriminate. I have had experience with birds, frogs, snakes, and rodents of different sizes, as well as tropical fish and the average aquarium types. I currently have two dogs and a cat that live in Arizona with my family while I am here in Idaho, and I do check in on them to see if they're behaving. They're usually not. As a child, part of my daily chores were looking after the animals, which included horses and cows, with an occasional donkey. I don't mind handling snakes and amphibians or the occasional tarantula (my grandfather has one as a pet). I promise you I will care for your pet as I have cared for my many beloved friends. I used to volunteer around 10 to 15 hours a week at the Moscow (Palouse area) Animal Shelter in Moscow, Idaho. I loved all the animals there, and gave them plenty of TLC (and an occasional bath)! I do not volunteer anymore but still love to hang out with my loving pets. I have an aging Rottweiler (who has cataracts and some kind of doggie dementia as well as joint pain for which I administer pain medication 3 times a day), a young Chow/German Sheppard puppy (who requires a lot of attention and play time) and two (fixed) male cats, both of whom enjoy play time before bed (which makes for a sleepy cat instead of enacting "Cat Rodeo" while I'm asleep. All of these creatures have been rescued from shelters, puppy mills and irresponsible families. My best friend is a veterinarian technician. She is a plethora of information and advice and is always just a phone call away.
