I currently work as a special education teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools. I work with students in grades 1-3 with varying needs and backgrounds. Most of the students with whom I work are on the Autism spectrum. I also have a considerable amount of experience working with children who have ADHD and Downs Syndrome. Prior to working in MPS, I worked for Balance Inc., a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. Working with individuals with special needs has always been near and dear to my heart. I enjoy getting to know the individuals with whom I work. I continuously strive to better understand how to motivate, encourage and guide each individual so they are able to gain confidence, independence and master important skills. Each individual has different strengths and challenges and I consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to be able to be a part of their growth.
