I worked with a homecare agency (will remain nameless unless references are requested) for 2 years as a caregiver, scheduler, then Regional Operations Manager. I left the company due to the care my patients were receiving based on insurance alone. In my personal opinion, our family members are more than just numbers to increase revenue. The majority of my patients weren't receiving enough care due to the restrictions placed by many insurance agencies. It is my strong conviction that family members should receive care based on their needs and comforts. I will gladly work with families to adjust rates based on financial needs of the family as a whole. Care and comfort always comes first.
