About Brittney

Caring for others is my passion - it's what makes me feel fulfilled and joyful. I am learning all about the care of older adults in my occupational therapy classes. Through these courses, I have gained valuable experience and interactions with older adults and knowledge about that season of life. Before I began my Masters program, I spent a couple of summers working in an Easter Seals group home for adults with mental and physical needs. I enjoyed caring for those individuals and building friendships, and I learned so many valuable lessons during my time working in their home. During my undergraduate schooling at Purdue, I participated in a couple of clubs that I have fond memories from: Adopt-a-grandparent and Caregiver Companion. In the first, I "adopted" an older couple and became a companion to them, but I felt just as adopted and cared for by them. In the latter, I assisted an older woman who lived by herself with housekeeping duties.
