Hello! My name is Brighid and I just graduated from the University of Redlands this last spring. I plan to be home in the Portland area at least through the end of 2023. I have tutored a wide range of kids from ages 5 to 17. Subject areas: math (elementary through precalculus), science, reading and writing, and social studies. I've been tutoring for over 4 years and have been in childcare for over 8 years. My teaching philosophy emphasizes exploring and questioning the area around us. I believe that the outdoors is a vital part of education especially for younger students. I strive to create a consistent, reliable atmosphere for my tutees so they can feel comfortable, allowing them to focus on schoolwork and the world around them. Please let me know if you have any other questions. (Note: CPR/AED, First Aid Certification for infants, children and adults.) Available August 1st through the end of 2023.

We hired Brighid to manage our Pod of 6 4th graders during distance learning. She has been an amazing attribute to our group. She supports their distance learning and has also helped them with their social-emotional needs by being creative in finding activities for them to participate in as a group in a safe manner. I think I can speak for the entire group of parents in saying that we would definitely hire her again if needed in the future.
