About Brenna

I am a certified early childhood teacher/specialist/administrator with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working as a 4th grade inclusion and special education teacher at an elementary school in Corpus Christi, Texas. I am a dedicated person who is eager to resume a full-time teaching career. I offer a proven track record of commended performance teaching and caring for infants through age 5, with a passion for early childhood development and a commitment to optimizing student and center success. I earned high marks for the quality of classroom teaching, lesson plans and instructional materials used in teaching diverse subjects (language arts, math, science, social studies, and history). I developed innovative approaches that were held as the model standard for meeting NAEYC standards in areas including play-based learning opportunities in all developmental domains across the curriculum, including literacy and diversity. I taught general education students and individuals with learning challenges within a mainstreamed, inclusive classroom. I consistently am commended for my ability to redirect students exhibiting behavior problems by replacing disruptive, unproductive patterns with positive behaviors. I have my Associates in Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies and graduated December 2011. I completed certificate degrees in Early Childhood Studies and Child Care Administration with a strong GPA in May of 2011. I am also trained in the E-Circle Reading Program and I currently work with students using the Read Right Program and I am furthering my training in this program to obtain my certification in the program.
