I am a student doula with training in newborn and infant care and about 10 years of experience caring for infants and toddlers. Most recently, I worked as the nanny of a wonderful 2-year-old for 1. 5 years, about 30 hours/week. I followed his feeding/sleeping schedules, prepared meals, did laundry/light cleaning, and engaged him in learning activities, including teaching him some Spanish. My experience includes supporting families postpartum and working as a teacher's aide at various day cares and pre-schools as a student. I am warm, loving and patient and enjoy caring for children and supporting new parents. I am applying for full-time graduate study in Social Work and seeking to work part-time about 16 hours 2 days/week, preferably in the Bloomfield/Montclair area, weekday mornings and early afternoons starting November 1st. Brenda currently cares for our 15-month-old son two days per week (mom works part-time). We have worked with her for almost 4 months, and she is wonderful. We recommend her highly and without any reservations. She is a responsible, caring, warm, and exceptionally thoughtful person. It is so clear that she enjoys spending time with our son, and she goes above and beyond to engage him and keep him active. She is really thoughtful about his development and tries to do stimulating activities that she takes the time to look up as age-appropriate. She is highly communicative with us, sending pictures and short videos throughout the day, which we love. She is also open to feedback, readily asks questions, and makes sure she is meeting our needs. We feel so lucky to have her!
