Brandy disappeared on us. Prior to this, we liked her after hiring her at the last minute for a quick babysitting job. She was prompt, proactive, friendly, and a quick learner. We had her back two or three times for last minute jobs while we worked from home in the next room. She did so well, we offered to increase her hours to a more consistent daily schedule. But we wanted to run her through our official full-time hiring process which includes a background and reference check since we'd be leaving her alone with our child. Brandy seemed eager to work with us and clearly needed the work. But things changed when we requested references and tried to run a background check that she said was ok to run. She stopped replying to texts and completely vanished. We reached out to her twice to make sure everything was ok and never heard back.
