I have been around animals all my life. I have had horses, cats, dogs, chickens and a duck. When I was 16, I raised my horse from a 5 month old to 3 years of age and trained her. My neighbors had goats and turkeys. I helped take care of them when I was younger. Over the past 20 years, I have had dogs, cats, birds and even a peacock that I cared for, until each had passed from natural causes. My children have dogs and cats that I love being around. I relate to animals very well. I currently have 2 black cats that are 8 years old. I have medical experience for people, which makes me more aware of animal needs and when they may be getting sick. I noticed my cat loosing weight and took him to the vet, he ended up having hyperthyroidism and now takes pills, 2 times daily for his life. I have experience giving medications in pill or liquid form to pets, insulin shots as I had 2 cats that were diabetic and required doses twice daily, and my mom's cat that had a heart condition which required pills. Pets give us their unconditional love and there is a lot we can learn form them to be better people to each other.
