About Blake

Hi! My name is Blake. I am currently a STAHM with my newborn until I return to be a full time Special Education teacher for an elementary school. I have experience in a variety of school settings including private day centers for Autism, middle school self contained classrooms for the emotionally disturbed, self contained classrooms within public schools, general eduacation k-5 and am now currently a resource teacher for all special education. I have tutored students diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, ODD, Dyslexia, and Specific Learning Disabilities. I am trained in Orton Gillingham which is a reading approach specifically designed for children with Dyslexia but is a great approach for any student behind in Phonics/decoding. I am patient, flexible, and confident in my education and understanding of working with all children. While I am certified to teach k-12 special education, I am also certified to teach General Education K-6 and have a very good understanding of that curriculum as well.
