I am an experienced nanny, educator and caregiver specializing in working with children with ADHD, autism, and other learning or sensory challenges. I am also well versed in early childhood development and education. I have been particularly successful teaching reading. I am a Portland native and graduated from The University of Portland, where I studied dance and genetics. A Montessori alum, I enjoy promoting experiential learning, encouraging interaction and observation of a student's surroundings. I revel in engaging children in learning as an adventure instead of a chore. I look to my students individual interests and academic needs when considering teaching styles and subject matter. I enjoy utilizing dance, music, art, and movement to connect with my clients, particularly those who are nonverbal. I have experience guiding distance learning and tutoring pre-k through high school students in most subjects. I am a retired midwife and doula, and have completed nursing school.
