About Betty

I homeschooled my daughters for 24 years, I consider those to be the best, most fulfilling years of my life. I also taught K-3rd grade at TEACH homeschool co-op for 10 years; and I have worked as a reading tutor at Holston Elementary School for 1st-2nd grade. Throughout my life, I have been employed as a teacher's aide, substitute teacher, tutor, and a mentor for students at Northeast State Community College. I have always been deeply passionate about helping children gain confidence in their academic study. My method of teaching is hands-on and nature based, similar to the Montessori method of education. I strive to connect with each child as a whole individual and do my best to give them the tools to excel and thrive.

Betty is an excellent tutor! She came in when my grandson needed help with virtual learning and has been top notch. My grandson enjoyed the time they spent together and has learned a lot from her. Very reliable.
