About Beth

I have worked with many seniors in my profession as a case manager providing assistance with activities of daily living, hobbies and other goals that will enhance a person's independence. I have always liked seniors, especially listening to their stories and experiences. The breaking point of really "loving" them was when my father became less mobile, had numerous health problems and some dementia. For one year, I assisted my mother with caring for him. In the early 80s, my grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. This was my first experience and interest working with people who have dementia. Just recently, I joined an organization which targets those with brain disorders and dementia. I have always gravitated towards elderly. Typically, I will sit with the elderly rather than those in my own age group, just because I like them that much.
