About Bethany

Hey, I'm Bethany! I have a master's degree in clinical psychology, and I am 1 year away from having my PhD. When I was 15 I started lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons to children ages 2-14. Through this experience I gained certification in CPR and first aid, as well as experience in managing large groups of kids. I have reliable transportation, and I would be comfortable with transporting as needed. For me, babysitting is more than just a job; it is a chance for me to teach and learn. I get to teach kids how to do daily tasks and learn necessary skills for their level of development, and I get to learn what I know kids are experts in: imagination and fun! I am attending UMKC now in their clinical psychology PhD program, where I have gained almost 3 years of supervised experience providing therapy to kids and teens. I have specialized in working with kids who have behavior challenges and teens who engage in risky behaviors, though I also have general experience across the board.
