I have successfully hired senior caregivers using Care.com. I had excellent loving care first for my father then my mother. Belen has cared for my husband for the last year. She is by far the best caregiver I have ever had the privilege to work with. My husband has Alzheimers diagnosed 8 years ago. He remained functional for most of those years. As his memory and judgment failed I hired Belen to be his companion. She had previously worked as a nanny and her former employers raved about her. She immediately impressed me. She was creative and resourceful talented kind and loving. She took Bob out everyday for a new adventure: to museums and events she took him swimming and hiking to the mall to shop to concerts and movies. At home she researched games that were good for Alzheimers and patiently played them, she was an artist and had him painting. She is a great cook and fed him elaborate and healthy meals. He would get confused and she would patiently help him. His disease was degenerative and she loved him and worked with him as he descended to his current state dying in Hospice care. I had to hire additional professional nursing care as he became bedridden and totally incapacitated. Belen has stayed by his side as a consistent source of comfort and support. What she has done for me during this last year is indescribable - she was just as much my support. She is a remarkable person, wise beyond her years and has impeccable integrity. As Bob is leaving us we all gathered as a family for his Last Rights sacrament - Belen will always remain a cherished member of our family. She us a treasure I unconditionally recommend her for your family.
