About Barbara

I find joy in the care and companionship of our elder loved-ones, whose wisdom, demeanor and storytelling I equally appreciate, respect and admire. Having a pleasant, calm and patient personality, I have worked in elder care for 10 years, including with dementia and Alzheimer's challenged individuals, as well as physically impaired persons ie: fractured hip, cerebral palsy. When pertinent, I encourage them to engage in activities such as playing with puzzles, cards, games, reading, music, etc. I also do believe in the benefits (both physically and mentally) of a lovely walk in the sunshine or simply puttering around in the garden to get the blood flowing and fresh air into the lungs.
