Enjoy keeping the family member(s) physically active, smiling and laughing as often as possible. Able to assist with activities of daily living, which include emergency bathing, dressing. I am happy to assist with meal preparation, exercising, accompany to doctor appointments, administer medication and vitals, as needed. I have worked in hospitals, assisted living facilities and private homes. I am trained in CPR, also certified in Dementia and Alzheimer's care. Have experience using a Hoyer lift, Stand and Assist transport units. I have also provided care for individuals with type 1 & 2 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, paralysis and stoke. I met Barbara last Fall when she was hired to take care of my cousin who has MS. Right from the start I knew she was the best person for the job! Always punctual, dependable and caring she gives 100% to her patients no matter how difficult the task. On my day off I frequently visit and have had many opportunities to watch her engage with her patient and get to know her. She has always been one step ahead of the progression of MS suggesting and recommending new ways to complete the difficult tasks of keeping her patient comfortable and calm during the most challenging of times. As difficult as it can be she always has a smile on her face and is attentive to all that is needed. Repeatedly she has stated she is there until the end if humanly possible. Barbara would be my choice if I or a family were in need of professional care. We need more people like her in the world.
