I am a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver for many years. I was taking care of a 88-year-old female with Essential Head Tremors and dementia and other health conditions in which made her immobile. I used a hoyer lift to position her in bed, chairs and bath chair for showers. I was with her for 2 1/2 years. Prior to that, I was taking care of a 88-year-old male, who had Alzheimer's. Prior to that, I was also taking care of my patient's wife with him, who had diabetes and many mini strokes. She was a tube-fed patient and had to be turned every two hours, have two dressing changes a day. She had a decubitus ulcer from being in the hospital. I have my Certificate of Nursing Assistant. Barb’s care significantly exceeded the initial parameters of our engagement as she quickly learned the protocols to directly administer Mom’s at-home peritoneal kidney dialysis. Barb met the rigorous medical standards, very impressive. In addition to Barb’s medical assistance, Barb readily assisted Mom with her daily life including her hygienic needs, food preparation and maintaining a clean and cheery household. You may assured my family appreciated Barb’s profound role in Mom’s quality of life during her final years.
