About Avery

Hello! I'm Avery, and I've been working with children since I was 12, starting as a neighborhood babysitter. Professionally, I worked for Oregon Child Protective Services where I investigated child abuse and neglect, always prioritizing children's safety and well-being. I also mentored eight girls ages 7 to 13 with Friends of the Children, helping them develop academic, behavioral, and social skills while fostering resilience and emotional regulation. I currently work as a Match Support Specialist with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Bend, ensuring safe, supportive mentor-mentee relationships. I'm passionate about helping children grow and thrive. In addition to my professional experience, I enjoy baking, cooking, arts and crafts, sports, hiking, and reading. I'm CPR and Lifeguard certified and pride myself on being dependable, communicative, and committed to creating a safe, fun environment for children.
