About Avery

I am a graduate student who will be graduating in May and becoming a speech-language pathologist. I was a babysitter as a teen and since then have worked for a children's museum, have had clinical rotations doing speech, language, voice, and feeding therapy with children birth to 7, including children with complex medical needs, have worked at a tech in a pediatric outpatient rehabilitation center, have tutored a third grader, and have taken coursework in child development. I am BLS certified (CPR and first aid). I love fostering growth and development in children and am experienced in providing enriching and motivating play and education opportunities. I tend to follow the parent's lead on discipline and communication styles, and I love to get to know a family's typical routines. I am very comfortable with pets and travel. I have been told that I remain calm in stressful situations and am good at thinking quickly and creatively. Let's get to know each other and see if it's a good fit!
