About Ava

I'd describe my personality as bubbly, welcoming, and patient. I like working with kids because they're all so different. Kids teach you things about yourself and I love nurturing positive attributes. I'm looking for a job that is flexible with my school schedule. I'm pursing my BA in education and it's my top priority. I also work as a substitute teacher for Hillsborough county. I started working with kids when my first brother was born. From there I helped raise 4 cousins and a lot of other family members. I worked at the YMCA when I was 16 as a camp counselor and really enjoyed it. I also obtained a year of experience caring for special needs children through my family owned corporation. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my friends take care of my animals and be around my family, I also spend a lot of time at my local ASPCA. My skills include being able to follow any types of disciplinary plans, knowing how to redirect bad behavior, and keep kids engaged.
