About Ava

Hi! My name is Ava and I am an NYC native looking for employment while I'm home for college this summer. I go to Skidmore College, where I am a rising junior majoring in neuroscience with a Spanish minor. I have been babysitting since I was 14, and spent the last two summers working full time at summer camps. I love kids and hope to become a pediatric speech therapist one day! I have also done virtual math tutoring and last year I tutored for a biology professor, but I'd be open to helping with anything. My hours are very flexible and I am able to get anywhere in NYC and anywhere in NY/NJ close to a train station. I like working with kids because they are so easy to talk to! I also love watching them develop new skills like reading, collaboration, and all the awesome personal growth that happens so quickly in childhood. I find it so rewarding to be a mentor who can facilitate these processes. I am free until August, as I will be visiting family and then returning to school.
