About Austin

I have many years of experience working with kids, primarily in a therapy environment. I have assisted in teaching many life skills from potty-training to resume building. I have worked with a wide variety of children ages 2-18, including many children with severe problem behaviors (tantrums, self injury, property destruction, etc). I am incredibly patient, consistent, and fun. A few of my personal interests include making music, video games, card games, skateboarding, bike riding, and disc golf. During my time in college studying communication I became very passionate about media literacy, critical analysis of media, race and multi-culturalism, gender studies, and intrapersonal communication. These may be seemingly unrelated to childcare, but empathy and respect goes a long way in the developmental years of a child. I have seen countless examples of how children can develop healthy habits while breaking unsustainable/harmful habits when they are given patience and respect.
